Don't waste your time slicing this cluster of fronds, instead pull them apart. The end product will be the perfect size for any dish. Maitake mushrooms are so flavorful, they make an excellent stand alone side that will have you going back for more.
Maitake is native to North America, China, and Japan, commonly found during autumn at the base of older trees. It is quite the functional mushroom, tastes amazing and harbors potent health benefits.
